If you’re in need of a new lipstick, I recommend checking this one out. This gorgeous red lipstick is the Nars velvet matte lip pencil in the colour Cruella. It is an amazing scarlet red colour and it is super pigmented. This lipstick is very long lasting and the colour does not fade even after eating.

I found this recipe on a great site that i haven’t been on in a while, called Two Peas and their Pod. No eggs in this recipe which was perfect for me because I’m running low on eggs at the moment.

iNGREDIENTS

1 cup whole wheat flour

1 cup spelt light flour

1 tsp baking powder

1 tsp baking soda

1/2 tsp sea salt

1/4 tsp ground cinnamon

1 3/4 mashed bananas

3/4 cup brown sugar

1/4 cup organic coconut oil melted and cooled

1/2 cup unsweetened almond vanilla milk, soy, organic milk

2 tsp pure vanilla extract

1 cup fresh or frozen blueberries

Turbinado sugar for sprinkling the top

DIRECTIONS

Pre-heat oven to 350 degrees. Line and spray a 12- cup muffin tray. in a bowl mix flours, baking powder, baking soda, sea salt and cinnamon. On a plate mash bananas and place into large bowl with sugar, milk, coconut oil and vanilla. Beat until mixed well. Add flour mixture to banana mixture. Mix only until blended. Place blueberries into batter and fold with a wooden spoon. Scoop batter into muffin cups and sprinkle turbinado sugar on top. Let cool and transfer to a cooling rack. Enjoy!

My muffin of the week was inspired by oatmeal raisin cookies. These muffins are low in fat and turned out extremely moist. You can also add fresh cubed apples, if you want to add a fruit.

INGREDIENTS

1 cup whole wheat flour

1 cup spelt light flour

2 tsp baking powder

1/2 tsp baking soda

1 tsp cinnamon

1/2 tsp sea salt

1/2 cup greek yogurt

1 1/2 fresh lemons, juiced

2 large organic eggs, beaten

1/2 cup pure maple syrup

1/4 cup coconut oil melted

2 tsp pure vanilla extract

2 mashed bananas

DIRECTIONS

Pre-heat oven to 350 degrees. Line and spray 12 cup muffin tray. In a bowl sift and mix flours, baking powder, baking soda and cinnamon. Add rolled oats and mix once again. In a separate bowl beat eggs and then add greek yogurt, lemon juice, mashed bananas, maple syrup, coconut oil and vanilla. Add dry mixture to wet mixture. Mix until blended. Add in raisins, cubed apples or any other fruit you desire. I added a handful of raisins to half the batter. Scoop the muffin mix into the muffin cups. Bake for 25 minutes. Cool in muffin tray and then transfer to a cooling rack. Enjoy!

This is the ultimate guilt free treat to satisfy any craving. I was walking in my grocery store and the in-store dietitian was giving samples to taste. I took the recipe to give it a try. The natural sugar comes from the dates.

INGREDIENTS

1 cup roasted natural almonds

1 cup pitted medjool dates

2 lemons, juiced

1/2 cup unsweetened shredded coconut flakes

DIRECTIONS

In a mini food processor grind almonds. Juice the lemons and then add the juice to the almonds with the dates.

Blend until the mixture turns to a dough texture. Use your hands to form balls and then roll into coconut.

Place the balls in a container and into the freezer until the balls are formed. Take out after 1/2 hour. Enjoy!

My muffin of the week was inspired by a recipe from Olive Magazine. I am always looking for recipes with less sugar. I added maple syrup to this recipe because they only added the apricots for a sugar substitute. I felt it needed a little extra sweetness. You can do it either way. I ate mine with a little bit of unsweetened jam to top it off. Perfection!!

INGREDIENTS

1 cup plus 1 tbsp whole wheat flour

1/2 cup spelt light flour

2 tsp baking powder

1/2 tsp baking soda

1/2 cup milled flax seeds

2 large organic eggs

2/3  cup greek yogurt

6 tbsp oil of choice coconut, grape seed

1/4 pure maple syrup

3 tbsp dried apricots with 4 tbsp bowling water

1 cup blueberries and raspberries fresh or frozen

1 handful of rolled oats

DIRECTIONS

Pre-heat t oven at the 350 degrees. Line and spray a 12 cup muffin tray. In a mini blender place dried apricots and bowling water and blend until pureed. Set aside in a small bowl. In another bowl mix flour, baking powder and milled flax seeds. In a separate bowl mix yogurt,baking soda ,oil and eggs. Place dry ingredients into wet ingredients and mix until blended. Add blueberries and raspberries in muffin batter. Top with rolled oats. Scoop batter into muffin tray and bake for 25-30 minutes. Let cool for 5 minutes and transferr to a cooling rack. Enjoy!
