Granola is a healthy snack to have plain, with yogurt or with any type of milk. I’ve tried many recipes but I would have to rate this as one of the best! The great part of granola is you can add whatever nuts and dried fruit you like to make it your own.

1/8 cup flaxseeds

1 cup rye flakes

1 cup oat flakes

1 cup kamut flakes

1 cup wheat flakes

1 cup sliced raw nuts

1 cup spelt flakes

1/2 cup sunflower seeds

1/4 cup sesame seeds

1/4 cup unsweetened coconut flakes

1/2 cup sucanat

1 tsp. cinnamon

1/4 cup canola oil

1 tsp. vanilla

1/4 cup honey

pinch of salt

1 cup dried fruits – raisins, cranberries, blueberries

Preheat oven to 300 degrees. Mix all dry ingredients in a bowl. In a small pot on low heat mix honey, oil, vanilla, cinnamon and sucanat until it turns to liquid. Pour liquid over dry ingredients. Spread granola on a large tray with parchment paper. Bake for 45 – 60 minutes stirring frequently. Add dried fruits to granola mixture. Put in clear cellophane bag to give as a gift.

Scotch & Soda

Scotch & Soda is a clothing line from Amsterdam that we think is just great. The details they add to each piece is incredible from the embellishments to the stitching. We especially love these gold jeans. Dress them up or down depending on your mood.

Dylan's Candy Bar

We went on a summer vacation last year to New York for a few days and one of the places that was on the top our list to visit was Dylan’s Candy Bar. The store is so unique with candy, fashion and café all in one. The mosaic of Dylan made out of candy was amazing. It’s a definite must see if you love candy and chocolate.

Crepes is a light meal that you can have sweet or savoury. I got this recipe from my dear friend who happens to be the best cook and baker. This recipe is a healthy version of crepes.

2 large eggs

1 1/2 skim milk

1 cup whole wheat flour

1/4 cup canola oil

1/4 tsp. sea salt

Beat eggs in a large bowl. Add flour, milk, salt, and oil into the bowl. Mix until well combined. Heat a large size frying pan at medium heat with a touch of oil to coat. Take a paper towel to spread oil evenly. Pour 1/3 cup of the batter onto the frying pan and spread the batter. Once the edges start to lift gently flip over with a square spatula for another 10 seconds. Enjoy with any toppings from chocolate spread with bananas, fresh strawberries and sugar or shredded cheese.
